About Dr. Loya

Lauren D. Loya, M.D. is originally from Greensburg, PA (southeast of Pittsburgh).  After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, she obtained her medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, IL.

Upon completing her residency at the University of Illinois-Chicago where she served as chief resident, Dr. Loya was invited to join the faculty and served as Assistant Residency Director. She also served on the faculty of the UPMC Family Practice Residency Program in Pittsburgh, PA. She is Board Certified in Family Practice.

Dr. Loya was most recently the affiliate medical director for the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers/Chronicity.  Her role included the training of new physicians and serving as a resource to existing physicians with difficult patient clinical cases. Her expertise lies in treating the symptoms of Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Gulf War Syndrome, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Hormone Imbalances (through Bio-Identical Hormone Restoration).

Dr. Loya trained under Dr. Dean Mitchell (based in New York City), a leading expert in sublingual allergy immunotherapy (allergy drops). His book Dr. Dean Mitchell’s Allergy and Asthma Solution (Marlowe Co.) provides a comprehensive overview of allergy drop treatments.

Dr. Loya lives in Pittsburgh with her husband and three children.
